The transgender movement?: It's all about love! Eh?

74-year-old gay rights pioneer Fred Sargeant, who was present at the Stonewall riots in 1969 and who co-founded the first pride march in New York City in 1970, was beaten and robbed by far-left and trans activists at the pride event in Burlington, Vermont on Sunday. Sargeant was holding a sign critical of trans ideology.

Photos show Sargeant with a sign that said: "gay not queer." Sargeant also said criticized the event's organizers, the Pride Center of Vermont, for calling the word gay "erasure of the breadth of sexual orientations and gender identities within the LGBTQ+ umbrella."


pb's been noting a backlash against LGBTQ-IA-+-MOUSE backlash due to overreach and hate within the movement.

It's coming. It's deserved.

    My small circle of transwomen friends is aghast at the new "trans" movement. Sheri and I argue with these mostly millenial and younger LGBTQ+ people now and then. They're infuriating.

    On that note, I just read the article below about that curfuffle. Looks like he was being an asshole too. I don't agree with either side.

    I sense that most LGBTQ+ people are reasonable live and let live people. As with other issues, it's often the loudest voices than stir up trouble. where there need'nt be.

    Nobody here will be arguing on behalf of those who assaulted Mr. Sergeant.

    I see Trumpers as a metaphor Nazis. Nazis too imagined themselves to be victims. In their case they imagine themselves to be "victims" of Jewish people. Trumpers held the paranoid belief that the 2020 election was stolen by a diabolical "Swamp". Nazis held the paranoid belief that it was because of Jews that they lost World War I.

    I'm the one poster here who distrusts every "news" source because I know that journalism is dead.

    You usually cite those sources to attack them, which is fine, but don't act like you usually cite them because you agree with their general content.

    I stand by what I've been saying about the two types of MAGAs. I don't really "hate" y'all. That's the wrong word. Actually I'm perplexed.

    I won't accuse you of a lie. I don't think you do that. But, you're 100% wrong.

    Here's how I post...ALWAYS...without exception.

    When I find news that interests me, I always look for the source least friendly to libertarians or the antiSwamp and I link to it. I only link to Fox or the NYP when the left refuses to report a story.

    pb truly believes that journalism is dead...

    ...if it ever existed, and is not a myth.

    I believe not to consult a variety of sources is to become a willing victim of disinformation.

    My opinions are strong and radical but my information base is varied. Check it out.

    So Donna's point stands. You don't accept the mainstream media reporting if it challenges your worldview.

    The profit motive is what killed journalism. Back in the day, the three big TV networks lost money on their news shows and made up for it in prime time.

    Rupert Murdoch broke that mold in the 1990s. It was inevitable that someone would. Almost every media outlet followed.

    The internet is that model on steroids.

    Conspiracy theories generate a lot of profits. They also IMO are destroying our democratic republic.

    Mike Pence's decision not to carry out his boss's wishes on Jan 6, 2021 is literally the only thing that prevented a Constitutional crisis.

    Donald Trump is a cancer on our democratic republic. If you aren't 100% against that, you're with it.
