I'm just going to cut to the chase here, since I already know how you MAGA cultists will be reacting to this historic development. You'll be outraged at what you'll declare is a partisan political attack. You'll feign being oblivious to and the actual crimes that are being investigated. You won't care a damn that all legal requirements will have been met to condone and authorize the approval of the FBI's historical actions. Nothing will matter to you other than the fact that the gloves are being taken off in the investigations of your Glorious Immaculate Messiah for his various and sundry crimes.

So the only thing I want to hear from you brainwashed zombies is an answer to this simple and key question that is at the heart of all you believe regarding your cult's leader:

Why do you believe that Donald Trump should be above the law and that it shouldn't apply to him?

Since you already know how the "MAGA cultists will be reacting to this historic development. You'll be outraged at what you'll declare is a partisan political attack. You'll feign being oblivious to and the actual crimes that are being investigated. You won't care a damn that all legal requirements will have been met to condone and authorize the approval of the FBI's historical actions. My thought last night were a few things.
    1. Why wasn't the FL AG informed of the action? Even a couple of minutes would have been okay. She found out the same way we did. The actions are extremely volatile for a blue-on-blue homicide. Oh, that's right, you're the one that likes burning down police stations. nevermind.

    2. You have been "insisting" at all of these felonies he has been doing. Been tried twice, one is still in the works. They had better find those issues and more to prosecute. If they come up with bad accounting software, that doesn't count.

    3. I really hope his lawyers can't go after the warrant for insufficient probable cause. AND they should show how the warrant fulfilled the predicate acts for that probable cause. If they can't show the PC through other investigative means, any and all "evidence" is thrown out.

    4. I'm thinking indictments should come out in the next two weeks. The longer it takes, the shakier the case is.

p.s. I love when you "know how we're going to react."

"p.s. I love when you 'know how we're going to react.'" -olde dude

And I love how I'm never wrong about it.

  3. by Ponderer on August 9, 2022 6:56 am

So olde dude, why do you think that the law shouldn't apply to Trump? Why do you think that all the crimes that he has committed should all just be ignored and blown off?

    .

    po,

It's always a blessing to read one of your posts.

Re: "Why do you believe that Donald Trump should be above the law and that it shouldn't apply to him?"

A couple responses. You've been away for a while so you may have no reason to know this.

OD and pb are not supporting Trump for 024. OD is rootin for Nikki Haley. pb is backing Ron DeSantis. It's too bad for you Blue Ultra-MAGAs here that you driven away all the genuine MAGAs.

Also, since you proclaimed that Trump had been caught leading an insurrection against the US government, who, here, on SS, has even hinted at a belief that Trump should not be held accountable if he's found guilty?

Both OD and pb were denouncing the Capitol riot while it was taking place.

pb thinks that this will work for OrangeMan politically. GOPs who've been treating him like he's covered with cat poop are standing up for him today.

One shift in political sentiment that's taken place since January 20, 021, is the emergence of a strong libertarian yearning among Americans. You've passed on that to choose Big Brother. Many Americans have been mandated and locked down to death.

But it appears, at this moment, that the raid on a former President’s home by the FBI was as egregious an example of federal government fascism as has ever taken place. Ever. In our history.

As facts emerge, we may know a different story. But, for now...

  5. by Ponderer on August 9, 2022 7:13 am

    "Been tried twice," -olde dude

Wrong. Trump has not been tried yet for anything. Impeachments are not trials. They are impeachments.

  6. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 7:15 am
So now you're changing your verbiage. Got it. A typical snowflake thing to do.

  7. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2022 7:15 am

    po,

OD nailed you. Back in the day, you declared Trump guilty of leading an insurrection. These days, even Lizzy has given up on that dream.

  8. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 7:16 am
So now you're changing your definition. Got it. A typical snowflake thing to do when you have nothing more.

  9. by Ponderer on August 9, 2022 7:18 am

Bill, you've done nothing but deny and disparage everything that the hearings have discovered and laid out for the American people about Trump's blatant guilt in fomenting, arranging, and supporting a violent attack on our Capitol and the American democratic system.

And if by some tragedy of injustice Trump is the one on the ballot in '24 instead of any other Republican, don't try to bullshit us that you and od wouldn't vote for him without hesitation. Regardless of what you say about him now.

  10. by Ponderer on August 9, 2022 7:18 am

I'm changing nothing, od. What the hell are you even talking about?

  11. by Ponderer on August 9, 2022 7:23 am

"OD nailed you. Back in the day, you declared Trump guilty of leading an insurrection. These days, even Lizzy has given up on that dream. " -Hate

Wow. The obliviousness to which you approach reality is flabbergasting.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2022 7:34 am

Bill, you've done nothing but deny and disparage everything that the hearings have discovered and laid out for the American people about Trump's blatant guilt in fomenting, arranging, and supporting a violent attack on our Capitol and the American democratic system.

    po,

The hearings are a Show Trial.

I don't know of anything the hearings have actually "discovered and laid out" that's no steeped in hearsay, gossip and rumor...

...and the first-hand testimony of people who, unabashedly, hate OrangeMan.

From what I know, everyone who loves the Bill of Rights, and, particularly, the Fifth Amendment, is appalled by the hearings themselves.

None of this testimony should be accepted by anyone.

Having said that, pb thinks that the clearest path to the GOPs controlling everything in DC in 024 is for Trump to be destroyed politically as soon as possible.

My problem is that I love the Republic.

  13. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 7:37 am
    What Lead said.

It's the hearings per se that both of us have a problem with. You've tried twice and pulled up jack and shit. If they actually had something, why didn't they find it the first two times? And now, they've flipped the course again because they found nothing. What's the focus of the Jan 6th "committee?" At first it was the protest. Well, nothing on that, so let's go to obstruction of the election results.

They're wasting money on these and producing zero results.

  14. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 7:42 am
    Ditto.
I also want the Republic to last longer than I think it will. Again, talking to the Central Americans' I come in contact with, is scary. They have the same stories coming out of Colombia, el Salvadore, and Nicaragua, and THEY are scared.

  15. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 7:44 am
    Oh, Pondy,

I would say/do the exact same if the GOP were running the same hearing on pedojoe or obomber or burnie.

  16. by Ponderer on August 9, 2022 8:04 am

"The hearings are a Show Trial." -Hate

Sure they are. They are showing, quite blatantly and with massive evidentiary corroboration, the wanton criminality and personal responsibility of Trump in the January 6th Insurrection and attack on American democracy. It's no wonder at all that you are exerting so much energy to deny and blow off everything the hearings are uncovering. Your only response to the truths being revealed about your Orange Lord and Messiah is to attack the messengers. Even though all you have to use is nothing but flaming bullshit and lies about it to do so.

Flail around and whine, cry, bitch, moan, squeal, howl, and hyperventilate all you want to that the hearings are happening, but the fact is that there is nothing illegal or untoward about the hearings at all to take any issue with. They are completely and entirely within all legal parameters set up for such congressional investigations.

How are you two clods so oblivious to the testimonies and evidence that have been presented in these hearings? You act like everything is all just made up out of nothing. That the Democrats are just controlling everything. That things that happened simply didn't happen. That people in his cabinet and administration who were always 100% supportive of Trump, are now all lying under oath and threat of perjury to help the Democrats.

    What astoundingly moronic, reality-denying pig-ignorance.

But then, it's all you losers have got to use to support your Glorious Infallible God of a cult leader with.

  17. by Ponderer on August 9, 2022 8:05 am

By the way, why do you two think that Trump should be above the law?

  18. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 10:55 am
Actually, the trials without rights are helping Trump gain outsiders. Dims are so hate-filled, they don't understand big picture. People will come over to Trump, just because the circus is just like the trial for Brittney Griner or a Hallmark movie. After they accuse Trump with "undisputable evidence" they'll settle for some petty misdemeanor and claim that a "win."

  19. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2022 11:15 am

They are showing, quite blatantly and with massive evidentiary corroboration...

    What evidence?

  20. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2022 11:17 am

By the way, why do you two think that Trump should be above the law?

When you're not posting here, po, the one thing I miss above all is your "Do you still beat your wife," questions.

    Welcome back

  21. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 11:31 am
I thought we just answered that in unison without trying.

  22. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2022 11:57 am

Driving home from a lunch meeting today, I was listening to Clay and Buck. Both guys are more pro-Trump than OD and pb. They say that they plan to vote for him if he's the nominee. My guess is that they'll vote for him in their primaries, though it wouldn't be good for the show for them to go that far.

OrangeMan appears on their show from time to time. They strike me as being more pro-Trump than not.

Clay said today that he thinks that GOPs who are on the fence with Trump are now more inclined to support since this Banana Republic act by the Former Truck Driver's Justice Department, people like, say, Bill Barr and OD and pb.

I thought about that. Speaking only for pb, pb says that he's now hates the Swamp more than ever and that he's more motivated than ever to do his share to support people who despise it as much as he does.

  23. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 2:45 pm
I really agree with you now. It was bad enough during obomber. I watched the desecration of the Constitution. I was sick over that. but it's happening again. I think it's really interesting that several of the speakers at CPAC/ Texas spoke to that this year. After 40 years of supporting this country, it does hurt that the laws and constitution are being attacked or just plain disregarded like this.

  24. by Ponderer on August 9, 2022 2:54 pm

    Thought so.

  25. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 2:55 pm
    For all the haters.
I haven't changed my attitude about the raid. If they had a valid warrant, got it signed (by a judge) and executed it without breaking the law. I'm fine with it.

Generally, the warrant is only to secure physical evidence to make the arrest. Trump wasn't even in the house. I still think there must be some felonies being charged out of this for what they did. Otherwise, the Trump lawyers are going to be busy going all the way up that flagpole to treat the FBI like the FBI treated Flynn.

This also ruined any relationship the Bureau had with the state cops. There should have been a call even minutes before until they knocked the door. Then Ashley Moody could have at least called DeSantis for the media shit show that was going to happen. I wonder how many Task forces will be left in 6 months.

  26. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2022 3:23 pm

I think that there's a reason that an armed raid with dozens of law enforcement officers serving a warrant never has been performed on a former President before.

The legal beagles I've read and heard are saying that this would normally been done through Trump's attorneys via a subpoena.

I think what the Former Truck Driver's Justice Department did is, itself, a scandal.

  27. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 4:18 pm
I agree with the subpoena, like they did (stupidly) with cliton. But then she destroyed evidence, which is another felony and a whole different story.

I don't doubt the whole swamp is in on this. Kind of like having DOJ label and classify parents concerned about what their kids are learning "Domestic Terrorists."

  28. by HatetheSwamp on August 9, 2022 4:26 pm

    Right, OD.

If the crime is similar to Hillary's, the DOJ should have dropped the whole thing. Can you imagine the reaction if Trump is indicted over that!!!!!?

  29. by oldedude on August 9, 2022 4:32 pm

"So olde dude, why do you think that the law shouldn't apply to Trump? Why do you think that all the crimes that he has committed should all just be ignored and blown off?"
I already answered this twice, but apparently you're really slow. I don't have a problem with the Warrant, ergo if he's guilty, no skin off my nose. As a matter of fact, I think it makes the GOP run for the whitehouse a better race. I'm starting to think like Lead, maybe DiSantis is a good person to run. We still have Pam Bondi we can run and get her spun up for a Presidential run '32. Maybe an all female team with a minority woman as President. Then who ever doesn't vote for them is a racist, misogynist pig. What do ya think!
