OCare is a beautiful thing but the Republicans kept attacking it, so, in 014, Joe made a commitment to campaign for Dems running in 57 GOP districts. Because of his good efforts the Dems took 30 some of those seats and won control of the House of Representatives.

isle entered the video as strong evidence that Joe isn't suffering from dementia.

Curt praised the video because it reveals Joe to be "a fundamentally decent man" and that there's nothing wrong with Joe's mind, no matter what pb says.

Donna agreed and thanked isle for entering the video.

To he honest, I don't know how much campaigning Joe did in 014 in how many GOP held districts.

What I know that Joe's story is a first class Porky Pie.

The truth is that the GOPs picked up 9 House seats in 014. My memory is that the GOPs ran against OCare and it was a winning issue for them. In any event, they won a sound victory.

The truth is that the Dems didn’t hold a majority in the House during the final two years as Joe claims. Truth? The size of the Dem minority was even more oppressive to the Obama administration than it was before the election.

The story Joe told Heather was not a slip of the tongue. It's a complex tale with many components. The telling of it takes up several minutes of the video.


My explanation of this kind of behavior is to note how similar Joe is to my own dad when dad was sliding deeply into dementia. Dad had those stories, which he sincerely believed with all his heart, which people who knew the facts knew were completely disconnected from reality...

...just like Joe's story of how he won the House of Representatives for the Dems in 014.

I have often said that my heart goes out to Joe. He's not right, as his detailed recollection of his historically successful campaign in 014 makes obvious.

To suggest that a man, who can misrepresent truth as outrageously as Joe did, has dementia is a very compassionate explanation of the magnificent lie Joe told Heather.

If you still believe that Joe isn't suffering from dementia, the alternative is to suggest that he's a pathological liar who can give Hitler and Putin competition.

So?

If you don't believe Joe has dementia, explain his Porky Pie in the Heather video.

And, please, don't embarrass yourselves.

Here is a screen shot of Biden talking with Heather Cox-Richardson talking about the electorate realizing how they benefitted from Obamacare. It's at the end of the interview. He is guessing the number of seats that the Democrats gained. He finally says 42 seats. Where in the interview did Biden ever say the year 2014? I am sure he was referring to 2018. In the 2018 elections, the Democrats won control of the House. The Democrats gained a net total of 41 seats from the total number of seats they had won in the 2016 elections. The Republicans lost 42 seats. Where in the interview did Biden say he led the Democrats to victory in the year 2014 glorious or otherwise? You don't have to put up at screenshot, just tell us the minutes and seconds into the video where he says anything like you are claiming. You see in the screenshot below that it's near the end of the video. It must have been hell for you watching the entire half hour video hoping to catch Biden slipping up on something or other so you could call him a liar. This isn't the first time that Hate completely misconstrued something. It's more likely he was talking about 2018 and US House which is when the Democrats regained the House after a number of years. I believe 2014 was year Obama said Democrats got a "shellacking". Biden was unsure of his numbers as he himself said, and while he was talking about State Representatives, he got mixed up and said “House of” Representatives, just like Hate got mixed up and said “Congress” instead of State Representatives (Joe never said anything about winning back Congress), Hate was also mixed up by thinking Joe was talking about the Congressional election rather than the State election. Biden was very thoughtful in discussing American history and the philosophical underpinnings of our American democracy. If being wrong as HtS claims is evidence of dementia, how is it that HTS does not admit to his own dementia given that he's been wrong in this thread and many times?
