Lovingly handcrafted by Gathering Glass Studio, Ashland, Oregon, owned by glass blowers Scott Carlson and Keith Gabor. (Scott has worked with Dale Chihuly's team.)
Original retail price was $600.
Gallery quality, in original condition. (This piece is not one of their regular catalogue items.) The photographs here are of the actual item for sale, not a sample.
Very large: about 18" tall; top diameter is about 21" at its widest point; bottom diameter is about 5 1/2" wide.
Transparent with a pale blue body that gently blends into green, wavy edges (some call this fluted or ruffled edges).
Some suggestions: Display upright or on its side with dried flowers and/or peacock feathers inside; or fill with different colored handblown glass floats or fish or starfish; or carefully place various art glass bowls or other items inside to create a sculpture. Another idea: I don't know anything about fish, but could this be used as a goldfish bowl?
I recommend a stand if you choose to display this piece upright, for added stability. Suggestion: Some plant or bowl fountain stands would probably work very well and would look fantastic.
Please note that this item, as with many handcrafted products, will naturally have some non-uniformity in color, substance and design, creating uniqueness and charm.
