Insatiable desire for a pencil?	YES	Graphite is mined. Miners gather lumps of graphite ore		Graphite dust is separated from impurities with oil and water to about 90% purity. Graphite can be wasted here as 100% purity is not easy to get.		Graphite is rolled into cylinders for pencil cores and refined to the specifications their pencil type requires, in this case, #2		Wood, in this case, Cedar is acquired via cutting down the trees (likely clear cut). This is a massive waste as nothing near 100% of the tree is used
								Wood is cut up into 18x7 cm slats. This would waste wood from the shavings, which could be reused but probably aren't
