Gang,
I began to enjoy getting my news from NPR decades ago...sometime in the 80s. I used to drive my wife to work in the morning and listen to MORNING EDITION on the way home. Later, I made it a regular habit to listen to ALL THINGS CONSIDERED in the evenings, though I'd been listening since the mid 70s.
The rhythms of my life ebbed and flowed over the years, but NPR's reporting was always my go-to...
...until NPR contracted the disease that became a pandemic among news reporting organizations:TDS.
It became impossible for me to even turn to the NPR spot on my radio dial during the Trump years. I haven't listened for years.
Very early this morning, by happenstance, I was fiddling with the presets on an old boom box and turned to an NPR signal, and...magic! It was as if I listened yesterday.
Trump's not in the news. Nina Totenberg was reporting on an issue related to court decisions.
You know what it's like in a deep, genuine, authentic friendship? You don't see each other for years and when you do meet, it's like you saw each other yesterday.
That's exactly what it was.
Trump's not in the news. I'm sure that when he is, we'll have to take a break from each other...
...but, for now? NPR and pb? Copacetic!
