People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

And, he's right.

As far as ideology is concerned, Roberts is conservative but less so than the Big Four...

...however, he is as domineering over the Associate Justices as any Chief Justice in a looooooooong time.

As Turley points out, Roberts is more chagrined by the lower court’s decision than he is by Trump's demand for absolute immunity.

I remember our SS poster who's a former Supreme Court clerk and who now teaches at an Ivy League law school, wink wink, suggesting that Trump had no chance of winning on his outrageous immunity claim.

After yesterday, that take... clearly fueled by deranged TrumpHate... ain't looking so good.

The bigger offense yesterday, from Roberts and others, is with the blank check that the DC Appeals Court gave to Jack Smith and Judge Chutkan, to grab a rope and hang Trump from the highest tree.

It seems likely now that the Court will, in some way, split the baby.

The worst part of this is this is "uncharted territory" literally. There has never been a case to decide "how much" immunity the president has. I was hoping there could have been some case law regarding this, but there isn't. So SCOTUS can go from an extremely limited immunity, which defense will argue with shackle the office into making decisions that cannot be viewed without talking about sensitive and classified information that will be a danger to the US in divulging that information too soon. This would include people's lives, either involved in the information gathering, or those making the decision itself.

The other side will say there is no such thing as a classified document in their view and trumpster has no right to immunity.

I hate to say it, but I think the left will be extremely short sighted on this. Their only value system right now is getting trumpster. Nothing more. They're like the guy at a frat party that needs to get laid. They're looking for anything to get their dick wet. Tomorrow? don't worry about it.

I'm not going to predict any sort of outcome (as usual) in a case. It is interesting though for as long as the Republic lasts.

I just don't know where they'll split the baby.

This is great news! Now Democrats don’t have to worry about Joe Biden being prosecuted criminally for selling his brand for millions of dollars to foreign countries. Sorry, James Comer, you’ve been foiled again.

how did you get that? Any decision that SCOTUS is/was about the subject hasn't been even started. They're still listening to arguments.

The Ds (not the "left") are okay with anything that hangs Trump.

The right is okay with anything that saves Trump - including giving him dictator status.

You're wrong, Indy, about 158,065 GOPs in Pennsylvania alone.

GOPs don't lockstep like Dems do.

Lockstep is the ONLY thing the GOP does. Because if they didn't they would have lost every general election since Reagan.
