This is Politico, gang, not Townhall, not the Federalist. Not Newsmax. This is a pro Dem source, that Dem insiders talk to. With all the advantages that Democrats have in producing ballots instead of nly honest votes, there's still a decent chance that "the Orange Turd" could win.

One adviser to major Democratic donors keeps a running list of reasons Biden could lose.

...now, nearly five months from the election, anxiety has morphed into palpable trepidation, according to more than a dozen party leaders and operatives. And the gap between what Democrats will say on TV or in print, and what they’ll text their friends, has only grown as worries have surged about Biden’s prospects.

“You don’t want to be that guy who is on the record saying we’re doomed, or the campaign’s bad or Biden’s making mistakes. Nobody wants to be that guy,” said a Democratic operative in close touch with the White House and granted anonymity to speak freely.

“This isn’t, ‘Oh my God, Mitt Romney might become president.’ It’s ‘Oh my God, the democracy might end.’”

While he’s long lagged Biden in cash on hand, Trump’s fundraising outpaced the president’s by $25 million last month, and included a record-setting $50.5 million haul from an event in Palm Beach, Florida. One adviser to major Democratic Party donors provided a running list that has been shared with funders of nearly two dozen reasons why Biden could lose, ranging from immigration and high inflation to the president’s age, the unpopularity of Vice President Kamala Harris and the presence of third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

In the swing state of Michigan, Democratic state Rep. Laurie Pohutsky suggested Biden’s standing is so tenuous that down-ballot Democrats can’t rely in November “on the top of the ticket to pull us along.”

Trump, meanwhile, has already started his incursion into safe blue states. His campaign’s psychological warfare in New York, California and New Jersey — where House districts will determine control of Congress’ lower chamber — is spiking Democrats’ already-elevated blood pressure.

“New York Democrats need to wake up,” said Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine. “The number of people in New York, including people of color that I come across who are saying positive things about Trump, is alarming.”

Looooooooong article. But, pb'll note. Among GOPs and MAGAs, there's none of this Doomsday chatter. Even with Trump confined to a courtroom, optimism rages.

More and more, GOPs talk landslide... Coattails that could win both Houses of Congress.

None of that among supporters of the "dithering and diminished" Doddering Old Fool.

Politico is pro-corporate America. Nothing else. They are your "swamp".

  2. by HatetheSwamp on May 28, 2024 9:18 am

    Agreed. Politico is progressive SwampMedia.

If 0 is royal blueMedia and 10 is scarlet redMedia, Politico is, what?, 3?

At this point, there are only a few in the MSM that still talk pedojoe up. I also want to add the talk around NY v. trumpster. He's actually gaining in popularity, and like I said before, he'll never win NY. That's just not going to happen, but looking at things that have gone on in the city are making local politicians watch their backs. These are things like immigrants being given priority in goods and services over legal citizens and residents of the state (read voters). AOC dealt a harsh blow to her district when she shot down Amazon to hire people. There's also a lack of police services, especially in the city, and lack of charges being filed along with a complete lack of keeping (what used to be felons) in jail to protect those in the city.

Trumpster is also going in to the five boroughs just to do it. He's also pulling crowds in to see him, which is no small feat for a member of the GOP, and an old white guy. He can talk directly to those folks and actually sound like he has the same issues in his life. I'm also sure that being "falsely accused" (his words, not an argument stand) wins him over in some ways also.

One of the most vocal oracles in the dim party is Chester Carville. Like him or not he's listened to on both sides. He started talking this up before the MSM was allowed to agree with his vision. "Chester" is doing his part to try to get the dims to recover this election, which is getting further away, but they still have a chance. They just have to get a new nominee. And a new VP.

...things like immigrants being given priority in goods and services over legal citizens and residents of the state (read voters).

    And, that's a big 10-4!

Here's what I strongly suspect. Trump may either win, or win bigger because sanctuary city people of color are really p!$$ed over the way city services they depend on have been either seriously reduced or eliminated due to the preferences granted to Biden's immigrants. I think that will come up in Philadelphia, though the Dem machine is efficient in producing ballots where votes haven't been cast.

But, in other states? Michigan? Wisconsin? Minnesota?

If 0 is royal blueMedia and 10 is scarlet redMedia, Politico is, what?, 3?

    8.5

  6. by HatetheSwamp on May 28, 2024 4:01 pm

You think Politico is more red than 85% of the SwampMedia?

    NAH!

  7. by Indy! on May 28, 2024 5:44 pm

We're doing percentages now? You said a scale of 1-10. Politico is easily an 8.5 (really a 10 - but Fox has that one nailed down and aren't letting anyone else in).

  8. by HatetheSwamp on May 29, 2024 3:50 am

Fine, Indy. What SwampMedia outlets would you put in the 2-4 range?

  9. by oldedude on May 29, 2024 6:55 am
I tried two ways to show this. Politico is considered center left, and Foxnews (business) is considered center right and Foxnews is considered right, along with 16 others. I figure this is the easiest way to form a consensus without using "he said/she said". I think it's interesting that fox in in with Brietbart, OAN, CBN and others that most liberals have never heard of.

I guess that's why I question the site. It's like hating the NRA as the "only" gun organization known to liberals, where there are many more that are much more radical about their positions and activity do at least equal to more of the work in legislative change.

My guess is that indy is correct. According to his thoughts and theories, Politico IS a Moderate right to close to far-right news. But then again, TASS and Xinhua is "center" to him.

  11. by Indy! on May 29, 2024 10:11 am
Like every "balanced" assessment, OD's chart is based on the Overton window - not reality. The Overton window says MSNBC is left. Reality says you can't find leftists anywhere except independent internet outlets.

Forbes and the Wall Street Journal are center? 😂

All those news outlets shown on the left are merely posing - at times - as left. When the nails hit the chalkboard - they are righties. If you take five minutes to look into MSNBC, you'll find a lot of their pundits came over directly from Fox and brought their wingnuttiness with them. Rachel Maddow has cited Roger Ailes as one of her heroes. What do they talk about ALL THE TIME on MSNBC? Donald Trump. Just like 2016 - they are giving him free air time 24/7/365. They never took responsibility for helping him to get elected in 2016, and they are doing it again. You know what they say - one time can be a fluke, two times is pattern.

  12. by HatetheSwamp on May 29, 2024 11:14 am

    Relative to each other.

  13. by oldedude on May 29, 2024 2:35 pm
Again, when TASS and Xinhua is "center" to him, everything is to the far right if it doesn't openly support the cartels, rape trees, and 10/7. So you can either fight it or just don't mind him and move on. And just an example, he does "mock" the NRA as "the" pro gun organization. That shows you how knowledgeable he really is. Or how close to reality.

Oh. Also. A few weeks ago, someone else ran the same gif. He had no issue with it then, so consider the source.
