People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

Dr. Francis Collins is the director of the National Institutes of Health.

"I know people are frustrated by what seems to be a change in the recommendations. But frankly, that needs to be understood is the fact that the science is changing.

You know, I said to somebody if your stockbroker told you to buy last week and told you to sell this week, you wouldn't accuse them of being a flip-flopper. You'd say, oh, the data must have changed. Well, that's happening here, as well.

We are coordinating, Rachel. Gosh. I meet with the CDC director, the acting commissioner the FDA, the surgeon general, Tony Fauci, Dr. Kessler. We meet at least once a week, and this is a main thing we talk about. We're talking about it today.

How do we make sure we've got our messages coordinated so we don't further add the confusion by having differences in the recommendations, even if they're subtle? Yeah, we understand. We got to get the messages as clear as possible. But don't be surprised if they change over time because the virus requires us to do that when we see new evidence of things that we should be doing."

...frankly, that needs to be understood is the fact that the science is changing.

This is, without a doubt, the SS oxymoron of the year...

    ...probably of all time.

Science is a method of acquiring knowledge. It don't change. It can't change.

What Dr. Collins says is precisely why there is both skepticism and cynicism among people with active minds about the continuing change in message from the preachers of COVID righteousness.

The issue is not the data. The issue is with the interpretation of the data.

You Swampcult Blue MAGA progressives trust the proclamations of St. Anthony and CDC nimnuls as if their infallible wisdom isn't different than it was yesterday and won't be different tomorrow.

    And, that's idiotic.

You have no idea what you're talking about, Hate. The data certainly are changing, as they are in every field of science.

Vaccine hesitancy that is based on a fear that we cannot trust what medical science tells us because medical science, like all other branches of science is constantly advancing in its knowledge and understanding. Such reasoning does not lend itself as being a particularly wise argument for avoiding the vaccine. This fear of science is usually strongest among those whose knowledge and understanding, in this instance, of immunology, disease control, etc. and their understanding of how a vaccine actually works is limited. Thus for them it is really a fear of the unknown. That doesn’t mean that their unknown in this case is actually unknown. The best thing such people can do is to increase their knowledge, it’s all there for the asking. As a virus evolves our response to it evolves right along with it. This is a good thing of course and it's how science works, but it’s also part of what those with limited understanding of this process mean when try to use this to justify their distrust of science by claiming science changes.
