This would be the achievement of two major Biden goals if the bill makes it to the President's desk for signing. Biden's insistence that bipartisanship was still possible seemed quaint and naïve, but somehow it happened in the Senate. Bernie Sanders compared the nuts and bolts of infrastructure deal to Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal legislation in particular the Works Projects Administation.

The Former Guy, Donald Trump has been on the sidelines loudly objecting to this infrastructure bill. He must be frustrated by being widely ignored by the GOP senators.

Democrats and Republicans approved the public-works package in a Tuesday morning vote, teeing it up soon for the House. Either way, whatever happens in the House, we won't be having a Trump-style "Infrastructure Week" every month or two.
