People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

Finally, a potential Republican candidate for president willing to overtly criticize Trump for January 6th. And it's Mike Pence of all people! --CA

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday harshly criticized former President Donald Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, widening the rift between the two men as they prepare to battle over the Republican nomination in next year's election.

“President Trump was wrong," Pence said during remarks at the annual white-tie Gridiron Dinner attended by politicians and journalists. "I had no right to overturn the election. And his reckless words endangered my family and everyone at the Capitol that day, and I know history will hold Donald Trump accountable.”

    Vote Pence, eh?

Not me. But some evangelicals in particular might relate to Pence's feelings. Some even might think, oh yeah, a man should resent attacks on his family! not to mention attacks on Congress.

You mean those 80,000,000 evangelical White Nationalists?

I think that the, uh, insurrection, was an act of white supremacy. Unlikely that evangelical white supremacists are grooving on Pence.

    Bahahahahahahahahahaha, ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Pence doesn't even rate in the polls. He's a great guy and everything, but the core folks aren't there to vote for him. Against Trump? Pretty farfetched for any Trumpster to not vote for him for that reason. If they like Trump for the multiple reasons not to, this is a moot point.

My sense is that evangelicals might be happy to have Pence as their pastor, but President, nuh uh.

I don't think that Pence can beat Trump, but I think he can take away poll numbers and votes from Trump. Some of the people who admire or at least respect Pence might rethink their fealty to Trump. Some will consider Pence or some other candidate instead of Trump.

Maybe these people will still believe that January 6th was a sightseeing tour, but some at least will relate to a father/husband whose family in danger. If Trump wasn't to blame, he certainly didn't lift a finger to protect and help the Pence family. If Pence didn't realize it before, he finally learned that loyalty is a one-way street with Trump.

I admire Pence generally but his commitment to his understanding of the Constitution on J6, particularly under the pressure of the Trump team, is PROFILES IN COURAGE material. But, I'd vote for DeSantis and Haley and Tim Scott before I'd vote for Pence as a presidential candidate.
