People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Former Vice President Mike Pence said Wednesday that he will challenge a subpoena by the special counsel overseeing Trump investigations to compel his testimony before a grand jury — pursuing it to the Supreme Court if necessary.

“Let me first be clear: I’m going to fight the Biden DOJ subpoena for me to appear before the grand jury because I believe it’s unconstitutional and it’s unprecedented,” Pence told reporters in Iowa, the state that will hold the first contest of the 2024 nominating sequence.

“Never before in American history has a vice president been summoned to appear in court to testify against the president with whom they serve,” he said.

Who said that Pence would be obliged to testify against Trump?

    Great point Curt.

I'm not gonna be too hard on Mike, though. After all, he may have saved our democracy on Jan 6th, or at least a constitutional crisis.

    Donna,
I agree, Pence deserves credit for not actively undermining our democracy.

But I am rather amused that Pence inadvertently admitted that if and when he is under oath that his testimony would incriminate Trump.

Btw, Pence's fight against the subpoena accomplishes two things:
    1. It shows GOP voters (including the MAGA crowd) that he is not out to get Trump, in fact he resisted testifying by all possible legal means.
    2. His testimony becomes more credible if he does testify against Trump. He won't seem like a guy with lingering resentment against the guy who sicced an angry mob on him.
