People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

First off, is this sort of intertangled writhing really that manly?

(CNN)In an anticlimactic and painful end to their third and much-anticipated match-up, Dustin Poirier beat Conor McGregor by TKO in the first round in the UFC 264 Saturday night after McGregor appeared to have broken his leg or ankle.

The two men had faced off twice before and talked a lot of trash in the lead-up to the match at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but Poirier came out on top in the short contest.

"This is not over! If I have to take this outside with him, I'll go outside," McGregor said after the match, still sitting in the octagon as trainers inspected his lower left leg.

Second, McGregor seems to be pulling a Donald Trump (who was in attendance at the UFC event in Las Vegas) by refusing to concede defeat even though he was hauled off on a stretcher.

Incidentally, the fight spectators greeted Trump with a mix of cheers and jeers. I would have thought that UFC fans would be Trump's base, squarely in the Florida retiree's corner.

The difference between McGregor and Trump is that no one believes that Poirier cheated. As I remind y'nes regularly, nearly half of likely voters are convinced that Trump was cheated out of the Presidency.

I'm not sure what McGregor was trying to say. He's never been renowned for his eloquence or for his attachment to reality.

I've sustained that kind of break of my ankle/leg. It's was extremely painful when the break occurred and adrenaline was flowing.

To give McGregor the benefit of the doubt, he might have been suggesting that another bout between the two is indicated and that this freak result shouldn't be regarded as a legitimate indication that Poirier is the superior fighter.

    HtS,
I believe Poirier cheated. Not that I watched the bout or have any evidence, but I have a right to my beliefs.

Anyway, every fight seems to have at least a smattering of jeers from the spectators who disagree with the outcome unless one participant suffers an undisputed knock-out, even then the fight referees are criticized or there are rumors of cheating.

You're like an army of one on the Poirier cheating thing whereas with that perverted and demented doddering old fart...,

    Y'know.
