January 6th Committee has asked Pat Cipollone, who served as White House counsel during Donald Trump’s term, to testify about the events that took place in the last weeks of Trump’s presidency. He has now agreed, in response to a subpoena, to speak to the panel.

White House counsel means that Cipollone is the lawyer for the White House not Trump's personal lawyer.

He is in a very good position to debunk or confirm the testimony of Cassidy Hutchinson.

Only if he saw the information exchange. Otherwise, it's conjecture. But if he did, then it would clear things up. I actually doubt if they'll get any counter to butche's claim. Otherwise, they wouldn't call him. It's called a kangaroo court.

If there were any integrity in the operations of the Committee, his testimony would be televised raw.

Former White House counsel Pat Cipollone has reached a deal with the House's Jan. 6 committee to testify in a transcribed interview on Friday, according to sources familiar with the matter.

His transcribed interview will be videotaped, sources said.

The committee had issued a subpoena to Cipollone last week after talks to have him testify publicly were not successful.

I don't know what a "transcribed interview" is or how it differs from any of the other interviews which have been videotaped. Does "transcribed" mean he only responds to written questions in writing?

Is there any reason to imagine that it will be different than Ms Hutchinson's, which was transcribed and video taped and replayed in snippets during her televised testimony?

Trump is despicable but this Committee is a farce.

This is an earlier televised hearing from the announced schedule. Previously nothing public was planned before next week. I suspect that there will be at least one witness appearing live and appearance Friday.

(WaPo)Former White House counsel Pat Cipollone will testify Friday morning after receiving a subpoena from the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob, according to people familiar with the matter.

It’s unclear what limits there may be on his closed-door testimony, which is scheduled for about half a day, according to one person familiar with the matter. The session will be videotaped, but there will be some limits on what he will testify to regarding direct conversations with former president Donald Trump.
