Not that Trump knew that he'd that he lost the election. I'll chalk that up to his willful ignorance; likely calculated, feigned willful ignorance.

Does Trump know right from wrong? According to today's testimony, he brought the full weight of the presidency and the cult he leads down onto the heads of an innocent, unassuming election worker, her mother and even her grandmother. Trump smeared these ordinary citizens by name. He called one "a professional election scammer". There was no evidence of Trump's allegations, of course. It was a bald-faced lie without substance. At the directions of the FBI, these women had to go into hiding because of the Trump cultists who were out for blood. They are still living in fear. Even if Trump was not a president, does he not know it's wrong to bear false witness? Does Trump lack the empathy to know what sort of hell he put this election worker and her family through?

Trump also put undo pressure on today's witnesses from Arizona and Georgia to violate their oaths of office, the US Constitution and their state constitutions by committing election fraud. Trump and his minions pressured state officials to change their states' electoral votes to Trump's favor. The harebrained scheme involved fake electors and counterfeit documents that purported to be certified electoral college votes. Did Trump not know that this ruse was wrong, even if he believed that he won the election. Does Trump not know it is wrong to induce somebody to commit a crime?

Some psychologists say that a person who doesn't know right from wrong is a psychopath or perhaps a sociopath. It is certainly an antisocial personality disorder.

I think that at some level Trump knows right from wrong but it simply doesn't matter to him.

And his enablers, aren't they just like him?

    Islander,
His enablers, imho, are not just like him. They are complicit, but different.

Gabe Sterling, the Georgia election official, said something interesting in today's hearings. He said he's had arguments with Family members and others about their election having legitimate results. Sherman said with one person, a lawyer, he, Sherman, debunked every allegation of fraud, to which the lawyer agreed was logical and true. But despite his acknowledgment, the lawyer said "but in my heart I believe voter fraud happened" (I may have paraphrased)

It is cult-like behavior to believe something because the dear leader makes the claim when the facts and logic say otherwise. Trump's enablers from those who were in the White House to those simply spread the Big Lie on the internet are complicit in weakening our democracy. Casting doubt on the legitimacy of elections is how autocracies are ushered into power.

I think you "might" possibly be right in regard to the cult like behavior of many of his followers who are unwittingly enabling him, but what about those enablers like Giuliani, Eastman, Meadows, Bannon, Stone etc. or even Hate?

Do you think they know right from wrong?
