People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

(NY Times)The number is in the ballpark of big television events like a “Sunday Night Football” game...

ABC attracted the biggest audience, with 5.2 million viewers. NBC and CBS each had an audience of more than three million. MSNBC averaged more than four million, and CNN drew 2.7 million. (The 20 million figure did not yet include PBS, so the total audience was most likely a bit bigger.)

Viewers who tuned in mostly stuck around for the entire congressional proceeding. Viewership on each of the broadcast networks remained steady between 8 and 10 p.m., according to half-hour Nielsen breakdowns.

Unlike other shows on TV including Sunday Night Football, news reporters will be discussing and showing highlights of last night's presentation for days. The committee cleverly teased some facts to come to entice viewership of the next episode.

There was supposed to be Trump response team led by Trump sycophant Matt Schlaff refuting claims made by the committee. I haven't heard of any fact checkers debunking any evidence presented last night. The only thing I've heard from team Trump is that it was "boring".

Trump did say that his daughter had "checked out" and that she was only trying to be "respectful" of the former AG by agreeing with Bill Barr. That of course begs the question, why wasn't Ivanka respectful of her father by agreeing with him?

Trump also complained that they didn't show any "positive" comments from his henchmen and supporters in his inner circle. I can explain that one: Trump's allies have refused to testify.

I'm glad Donald Trump isn't my father.

That 20 million number is rather impressive but remember, people like me are in that number.

Not many like you. The Times article reported that three million tuned into FOX News, their usual number of viewers. I read elsewhere, that FOX News ran their programming (Tucker and Hannity I believe) during the hearing commercial-free.

Evie's Bru watched Fox last night. He mentioned the commercial free thing.

  4. by Ponderer on June 11, 2022 8:51 am

Fox was willing to sacrifice hours of precious prime time ad revenue just to keep any of their brainless lemmings of an audience from hopping over during commercials to get even a fleeting bit o exposure to the truth that was being presented in the hearings.

It was worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions to Fox to shield you and other Trump ass kissers from the truth, Hate.

Not that being manipulated by them like that means anything to you.

    po,

I don't watch Fox at night...

...except GUTFELD!, which you predicted wouldn't last three weeks!

I did watch the Show Trial, though sleep tried to overtake me.

I'm still trying to figure out how this was supposed to entertain people who are not already rabid devotees of the Blue MAGA progressive Swampcult. Maybe you can splain.

  6. by Ponderer on June 11, 2022 2:55 pm

Look, it has already been explained how the very idea of an average American citizen being interested in the hearings for any other motivation than to be entertained is beyond your comprehension. You don't have to keep remarking on your perplexity. You just don't get it. And we get that.

People want to know what happened. There were people who tried to violently and in a highly organized fashion overthrow our government. Just because you have no interest in seeing your cult leader proved to be the treasonous criminal that he is doesn't mean that seeing what he did exposed to the light of day wouldn't be of great interest to most Americans.
