People who say they are voting for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are probably low-information voters.

Thank you President Biden!

"[In] some ways, [Afghanistan is in] a more secure situation than it was. And this is a hard reality, I think, for a lot of Americans to grapple with. But there's been an almost - over 90% diminution in security incidents, meaning fights, clashes, deaths of civilians, year on year, from now to last year. That is because the war is over." -- Special Representative for Afghanistan Tom West

During the War in Afghanistan, according to the Costs of War Project the war killed 176,000 people in Afghanistan; 46,319 civilians, 69,095 military and police and at least 52,893 opposition fighters. However, the death toll is possibly higher due to unaccounted deaths by "disease, loss of access to food, water, infrastructure, and/or other indirect consequences of the war." According to the Uppsala Conflict Data Program, the conflict killed 212,191 people.

Since America's withdrawal, after a futile year stay, last August, no US soldiers have died in Afghanistan.

Still, some Americans and many of our translators and other allies...those not already tortured and murdered...remain abandoned by the Roaring Bear from Delaware.

America announced our planned withdrawal a year and a half before we actually did. The Biden administration issued a half dozen advisories for Afghanis to leave if they were so inclined. Snooze you lose.

More to the point who promised translators and others they'd get a free plane ride and residency in the US? That was the military mostly under previous administrations.

Except the Roaring Bear promised George Stephanopoulos that he wouldn't do that.

Biden was interviewed by George Stephanopoulos AS we were leaving. The time for translators and others to depart was anytime a year and a half before that. I wouldn't have waited for an invitation or waited to see if airfares were going on sale.

Biden didn't make any promises to Stephanopoulos about getting people at that late date other than Biden said that he extended the withdrawal date to get as many people out as possible.

Biden told Stephanopoulos, "we had already issued several thousand passports to the SIVs, the people, the translators when I came into office before we had negotiated getting out at the end of August."

Biden did say that he and his intelligence thought the Taliban would face more resistance and some time, maybe until the end of the year to take over. Biden said the idea that "the 300,000 troops we had trained and equipped were going to just collapse, they were going to give up. I don't think anybody anticipated that."
